NEWSLETTER INSTAFOREX LOPRAIS TEAM
The guys were seen, praised Karel Loprais
Karel Loprais won the Dakar Rally six times. His nephew Aleš finished this year on the sixth place due to technical problems. But even so had Karel only words of praise for Aleš and the whole team.
How would you evaluate this year’s Dakar?
It was really hard. Organizers promised it before and the fulfil it. It was seen on apostates, their number was high. Marathon driving distances, height differences and enormous temperatures were demanding for all.
Two winning stages, one second and one third place. The guys didn’t lose in tough competition, didn’t they?
Absolutely. They were seen and it proved that if the truck works as it should, they can beat the rest of the world.
When did they the worst mood? Was it after the penultimate stage in which they lost a chance to fight for the podium due to technical problems?
I do agree. The loss was enormous, they couldn’t do anything. It’s a pity.
But they fought.
Exactly, it was seen in the last stage. The mechanics worked hard and the crew did the great job on the track. Although they started from the back, they managed to set the fastest time.
However, in the truck category they were fully compete even in the last stage. De Rooy competed with Karginov for the overall victory.
A lot of people think that the last stage is just a piece of cake, but it is not. We lost the victory in the last stage. They have to race on the Dakar until the finish.
They didn’t reach the podium. But did the Dakar bring any positives?
That is very clear. Such a test, they all passed, can not be simulated. The Silk Way Rally was the first test for the Queen 69, but it was completely new. Now came the long and demanding competition like the Dakar. They gathered a lot of data that they will be able to capitalize next time. |

We are saying goodbye to the Dakar with gold!
After the Friday’s collapse, when the broken hose of compressor took Aleš Loprais in the penultimate stage hopes on the overall ranking among the top three in this year’s Dakar, came patch on Saturday in the form of the second stage gold! The whole team showed indomitable spirit. Everyone fought, even though the chances of better results were away. The mechanics did a great job, the Queen 69 has passed a thorough service before the last stage and the remuneration came.
Aleš Loprais had to deal in the 157 km long special stage with the fact that he started up from the bottom of the field, but he made it masterfully in the cooperation with the navigator Serge Bruynkens and the mechanics Radim Pustějovský. He was on the third place in the first waypoint, in the second he was the fastest and nothing changed till the finish!
Even the accident of Zhou Yong from the China, whose car blocked the path for some time, didn’t stop him. On the second place finished yesterday de Rooy with the loss of two and half minutes. De Rooy tried to overtake Karginov, but even if Karginov finished on the sixth place, it was enough to his win in this year’s Dakar. De Rooy lost three minutes and 11 seconds and was on the second place. On the third place in the overall ranking was another Kamaz pilot Nikolajev. Kamaz occupied the fourth and fifth place too – there were Sotnikov and Šibalov. On the sixth place was after the Friday’s nearly three-hour loss Aleš Loprais and the Saturday’s triumph unfortunately changed nothing – the loss to Karginov was totally 5 hours and 4 minutes.
“I’ve never overtake as many participants as today! Due to yesterday’s stage and the technical problems we had the worst possible position to the start to the 13th stage. In dust we overtook more than 50 cars and trucks. We did it finally and we won the last stage. It was y seventh won stage of the Dakar. At Dakar, like on the Tour de France they register each won stage separately. Although we unfortunately could not affect the overall results, I wanted to do at least that. The 2014 Dakar was the hardest race I’ve ever been. We had only four stages without problems and we got to the podium in all of them. The remaining staged were indescribable suffering for me and the whole crew. But that’s the Dakar. The Queen 69 is relatively new Tatra and I wanted of her more than she was able to. But when everything worked there was no problem to defeat the rich teams like Kamaz of Iveco. We have the speed, but the problem is endurance of technique. It is directly proportional to the size of the team. We are the first purely private team without the factory support, which can occasionally mix things up. Kamaz team and especially Andery Karginov fully deserved the victory,” said Aleš Loprais after he finished the last stage.
Unfortunately it turned out that a single failure can well-shuffle the order. Were it not for the Friday’s losses, Aleš Loprais could fight until the finish for the statue of Bedouins who receive at the finish members of the first three crews. The attacked the third place for long time, but this is Dakar – does not forgive. Reward for the whole team may be the fact that both trucks are in the finished. Jan Tománek’s Tatar finished on the 18th place and it is among the five decades if trucks that arrived to Valparaiso a very good result. The same result can also boast the biker David Pabiška, for whom it was the best Dakar in his life.
Aleš ended his comment and the whole race: “I want to thank our whole team of mechanics who have been working hard the whole Dakar nonstop until The Queen with the Princess crossed the tape. The result is more than decent because of the fact, that it was the Dakar premiere for the Queen 69. Of course I’m not going to change my motto that the second racer is the first who lose and the fourth place is almost not reach the finish. We want more and I believe that have a great future with the Queen 69 and the technical data that we have acquired during this year’s Dakar. Thanks again to all team members, fans, family and last but not least to all partners without whom he could never complete this desert adventure.”
I have to mention a few sayings that crossed my mind in connection with our team and the Dakar: It doesn’t matter how many times you fall but how many times you can pick up. Who does not run, does not fall. End good, all good!
Look forward to our message, for example tomorrow about the results of a guessing competition and to the After Dakar Party on Fenruary 1 in Beskydy!

Serge Bruynkens had expected more of this Dakar is an understatement . On the stage win from a few days ago after driving from Antwerp from frustration to frustration culminating in the penultimate stage in which he finished in 34th place . In the position he lost two places and drops from 4 to 6 .
” We started well on the ride to the air pressure suddenly fell away ,” Bruynkens begins his story . ” The mechanic was trying to solve an emergency repair the problem, but that did not help. Up to four times we have the same problem to stop until I finally got involved with it and the problem got solved . Finally Meanwhile insulted my Czech team mates shit together. I can only conclude that they have no insight and insufficiently prepared at the start of this race have come . Loprais In the dunes once did only his own sense which we 3km from the finish lacked a connection to the touching . dunes he did not do that . I served him answer that he must learn to listen . Moreover, I make no more words to dirt . We lost a stupid way of time today. , I came to the podium and is now finally gone. For me this is a big disappointment , but also associated with the sport. I remain professional and ‘m going to prepare myself for the final stage . “
After stage 12:

After Stage 13:
“It was frustrating for me, Dakar, we are still pretty close. Today, we are starting 82nd. For fear of losing our sixth place at Stacey, we are with the knife between the teeth left with the stage win as a result. Most participants were passing us quickly but some kept us some mileage on ” told the Antwerp citizen.
“I am satisfied that I may end up with a stage win, but there had been a lot more if my driver had not been Loprais. Headstrong as He is an excellent driver with a lot of qualities, but unfortunately he is too stubborn. We are a team and you have to do everything together. If you find that you are not listened to, that’s disappointing. Especially if it subsequently appears that you were right. Next year I come back to the Dakar, but not with this team. I’m already on the plane to Belgium. “

Artur Ardavichus and Tomáš Vrátný successfully completed Rally Dakar 2014! Both crews of the team Bonver Dakar Project finished in tied 12th and 28th place in the last stage. Pep Vila Roca completed the last stage in exactly the same time as Artur. Congratulations and thanks to all of you for your support!
Finally, the clash of titans between Iveco and Kamaz will have been a close one until the very end. Although the Russian team seized the overall lead from the get-go with Ayrat Mardeev and was still in the pole position with Andrey Karginov twelve stages later as the race came Valparaíso, the outcome of the 36th Dakar was full of suspense, reminiscent of some of the memorable battles seen in the motorcycle and quad categories over the last few years. Kamaz’s Andrey Karginov seemed set to take a win earned on the Chilean sands, but one obstacle blocked his way in the last special. Car no. 319 swerved and ended up stuck on the track of the last timed sector, just in front of the Russian, who lost 10 minutes. Meanwhile, his closest pursuer and winner of the previous stage Gerard de Rooy used his starting order to slip ahead. All in all, Karginov lost 9′34″ to the Dutchman. However, race officials deducted 5′20″ from the time of the no. 306 Kamaz, handing Russia’s Andrey Karginov his first Dakar win by 3′11″ over Gerard de Rooy. Behind them, the other Kamazes hogged places 3 to 5, with defending champion Eduard Nikolaev, Dmitry Sotnikov and Anton Shibalov. It is a pity that this awesome edition had to go without the fireworks of Pieter Versluis, Martin Kolomý and Ayrat Mardeev, who had to drop out in stages 10, 9 and 3, respectively, while Aleš Loprais’ Dakar was a mixed bag, with the Czech driver finishing in sixth place, over five hours off the pace.
We should almost forget that Loprais was the stage winner. Starting way down the field due to his technical problems in stage 12, he did his utmost to forget his bad luck and managed to finish his Dakar with a good feeling. He took victory in the last stage!
In the end however, Loprais, having started way back down the field, appeared to be the fasted truck driver of the day and became stage winner!

Tatra produces 763 lorries in 2013, highest since 2008
Czech lorry maker Tatra produced 763 units last year, the highest figure since 2008, and sold 722 vehicles, around two-thirds of them abroad, Tatra spokesman Andrej Čírtek told the Czech News Agency (ČTK) today.
This year’s sales target is 760 units.Preliminary sales reached 2.99 billion Kč last year, Čírtek said.
The results include Tatra’s performance before auction and performance of Tatra Trucks.
Owing to high debts, Tatra went to auction last year, and as of March it has had a new owner, Tatra Trucks, which belongs to entrepreneurs Jaroslav Strnad and René Matera.
Tatra’s value was set at 1.765 billion Kč and its liabilities at around 1.5 billion Kč.
At the beginning of the year, the lorry maker started preparations for deliveries of vehicles to the Middle East as part of a contract to supply up to 750 units.
Tatra shed more than 100 jobs last year. As of Jan. 1, it employed 952 workers. Another 600 people work in subsidiaries focused on casting and forging.
In 2011, the company cut losses by 118 million Kč to 39.6 million Kč, but the loss of the group including subsidiaries grew 100 million Kč to 217 million Kč. Results for 2012 are not available yet.
