2.1.2014

NEWSLETTER INSTAFOREX LOPRAIS TEAM
New Year’s wishes and the road to Dakar 2014 launched

We wish you all a good technique, good quality fuel and the most importantly the right people in your team and surroundings to the 2014 year. We believe that not only the fun to drive will come, but also a chance to win all the chosen categories and in for you important races.

Dakar2014LopraisHeading

We have already started the journey to the most important in this year. The team flew to the South America in two groups. The majority hit the road through London and Vienna to Buenos Aires from the garage in Frenštát at noon on the last day of last year. After arrival they will go by bus to the port to pick up the technique and then they will move it to the start of the race in Rosario. All the scrutineering and the opening ceremony will take place in Rosario. The second group, including the Queen 69 and Princess crew is departing Vienna today and will go directly to the starting point.

The philosophy of extreme off-road race 2014 Rally Dakar will soon be fulfil. Competitors will have to drive nearly 5000 km in the special stages this year, which is the highest number for almost a decade. The participants will also have to count with diversity of terrain.

David Castera, the sports director of the Dakar commented the upcoming rally:

“We know that cumulative fatigue is one of the most complex elements to master on the Dakar. With an average of 50 additional kilometres to cover each day compared to last year, we have increased the degree of difficulty by one or two levels: this extra distance will affect everyone! For motorcycle and quad bikes, there will also be two marathon stages, which will oblige their riders to pace themselves and take good care of their vehicles. This is the essence of the off-road races.”

And we will bring you again the fresh news and comments. The next will cover the race route and the scrutineering of the Queen 69 and Princess that will come in a few days. But so far we are going and look forward. We will accept with honour and humbly the greatest challenge in the category of off-road races. We will be glad if you will be there again and intensively with us!

Arthur Ardavichus explains his relation with the Bonver team

no comment Posted by smitkees
Arthur Ardavichus from Kazakhstan – a mechanic, lawyer and logistics specialist – was one of the first who competed with a private Kamaz Rallytruck at the Dakar Rally. He started his career on a motobike at the previous “Silk Way Rally” in 2006 and finished second. In 2007 he participated in the “NPO Tunisia Rally” – also with a bike – and in the same year he switched to T1-prototype cars for the “NPO Morocco Rally”.
He was infected – and in 2008 he wanted to participate in his first Dakar rally, this year in a T2 (production) car. But as we all know, this Dakar was cancelled and this was the end of the “real Dakar” in Africa.
It should take another three years that his Dakar-dream became true: After participating in Rallies like the “UAE Desert Challenge”, “Transiberico Portugal” and other marathonrallies in a car, his first Dakar was in 2011 – behind the steering-wheel of a private Kamaz Truck in the mint green (or blue?) colours of his country and the name “Astana” – the capital of Kazakhstan. A name which is also well known in the international bicycle sports. His success was the birth of the “Astana Dakar Team”, which will represent the European/Asian country with four participants in the Dakar Rally 2014.

Loprais testing his 2014 vehicle

Dakar2014LopraisTesting2013

In the past week the Czech “Loprais Tatra Team” team worked intensively and tested in the military field Zahorie at Senica in the Slovak Republic. The new place, which provided a driving permit in very difficult terrain, was chosen this time.
“We had three days of intensive testing. After the very difficult debut of our Tatra ´Queen 69´, which was the Russian Silk Way Rally, it was the first time after adjustments that we went out from workshops in Frenštát pod Radhoštem to the Slovak Sahara to test newly modified engine, different damper settings and stabilize the vehicle,” team driector Ales Loprais said.
“There are still things to improve on the Queen. Many thanks to our fans, dear guests, but especially to the partners, which not only sweetened the testing by their visit, but also helped to create amazing background and atmosphere of bivouac. So we ate and drank very well. It was not only work but also very fun and a great motivation for all of us,” commented Aleš Loprais contentedly.
The whole team is gathering pace, which will culminate in the period from 5.1. to 18.1.2014, when the sixth year of the Dakar Rally will take place in the South America.

Dakar Team Holland ready for Dakar 2014 , Chris Leyds added to team
Published by Johan Vis September 11, 2013 09:40 – Print article
The Dakar Team Holland Marcel Schoo is ready for the 2014 edition of the Dakar . The team will for the 2nd time with the unique Tatra Phoenix be at the start of the most challenging rally in the world .
reconstruction
The Phoenix where Marcel Schoo, Michel van Herpen and Jaap de Wit in the edition of 2013 with it crashed almost immediately after the rally was completely rebuilt in the Czech Republic . The Tatra is there not only recovered from the injury , but also significantly improved. There is a new cab placed with a weighted executed roll cage , not only thicker , but also of high grade material . The same material has also been used for the new roll-over bar behind the cabin . Furthermore, the construction reinforced at the rear, there are new boxes placed in front of parts and tools, and the tape discharge system perfected. When last the entire front of the cabin redesigned , allowing for even better approach angle is formed. This is obviously beneficial in the dunes .
With all these improvements and the experience of recent rally , the team convinced the Tatra Phoenix Top -10 worthy . Yet there is only one goal that the team strives : the spreading of the rally . ” A nice place is taken but the key is really arriving in Valparaiso ,” said Marcel .
tube
The uniqueness of the Tatra remains the chassis . The trucks have been known for their special chassis layout . Tatra is the only brand that factory uses independent suspension in which the entire drivetrain in a thick central tube is housed . This not only ensures optimal protection of the drive but also a very low center of gravity . The independent suspension is equipped with air suspension . In combination with the suspended cab DAF is the handling phenomenal! Marcel: ” . This really is like a rally car driving on a slope with many bumps and stones rode a leaf -sprung Liaz rally truck 90 km / h where we just went with 120 km / h over . “
Press – car
This year the team is enhanced by a fully prepared Audi Q7 . The Audi is used as a press car. You’ll be even better this year so keep up to date with all the news from South America .
the Team
The Audi is also necessary , therefore the crew team expanded this year . Thus, we can announce that Chris Leyds joins the team . Chris is a real Dakarman with lots of experience in rallying . In recent years, Chris was particularly active in – McRae Enduro rally team . He will work with Jeffrey Schoo and Tom van Herpen to the finish driving the Audi Q7 . Jeffrey and Tom make their debut this year in Dakar . The sons of Marcel and Michel will be the website and social media are equipped with the latest news , photos and videos.
The crew of Dakar Team Holland is not only expanded also changed . Thus Pièrre Blom this year’s rally truck take the place of Jaap de Wit, who will drive the assistance truck . Besides Jaap will be staffed by the 6×6 mechanics : All Tadema and Meindert Postma .
charity
This year relies Dakar Team Holland again the charity ” Racing Against Cancer ” . The why is very simple, the cancer’s last came very close to the team and Marcel was therefore more than just something to do with it.
Organize organizing Racing Against Cancer including a few times a year circuitdag.Op this day have children with the terrible disease the ability to forget . Misery With several race cars will be driven on the TT circuit in Assen . Also, the children ride on an “off -road ” route with different Dakar / rally vehicles.
Last July Dakar Team Holland has also participated in this special track day . Children were given the opportunity to participate in the Dakar truck driving . Few laps Marcel: ” It was wonderful to see the children enjoy and to give them a big smile . “

Silver fourth stage!
Finally some good news and great joy after the previous two intensive days. The fourth stage brought the crew of 301, second place, conjured stíbrně good mood in the team and also brought satisfaction for the work of all those who, day and night, work hard to debug a new car. Overall, Ales, radio and Serge ten. 306 crew of Jan Tomanek, Thomas Jasper and Michael Honda ended on stage 13-th place overall is twelve. Originally Although the trio would not be presented or publicized, but after numerous questions that fans are finally agrees to the disclosure by publishing their location in our news service.
Ales happily reports: “Today we had the first clean stage. The track was very broken. We drove through the barren landscape. In addition to the salt lakes and herds of wild cattle, it was just a road full of holes and bumps across the desert. The terrain is extremely challenging especially on the spine and head tremors are also unbearable. For tomorrow we’ll try a different suspension settings. Step by step we change the properties of the new car and tune it to the profile of the local SS. Today we are at the stage occupied by a nice silver position, although we started to 39-TI and so we had to overtake dozens of cars and trucks in front of us and we have not stopped for a minute to check the cab. Our fighter ride finally came out. “

SS 4 « On the Silk Route»

There will be a change of direction on stage four. The rally will head west from the shores of the Caspian Sea, the cradle of the Russian, Kazak, Turkmenistan, Iranian and Azerbaijan civilizations towards the capital of the Republic of Kalmykia.

The start of the special stage will be situated in the heart of the Sands of Astrakhan which will feature a lot of off-road kilometres, few reference points and imposing heat on the first 150 km. Then the rally leaves the Astrakhan and heads to the infinite space of another desert, the Kalmykia.

As they pass by the nature reserves, the teams could come across wildlife such as Eurasian antelopes, deer and herds of horses. The track will become fast with numerous direction changes.

Steppes, valleys and hills on the rolling tracks and soon the competitors will head towards a breath taking décor along the shores of a magnificent lake.

Then the rally will head towards Elista (which merits the time to visit), on straight and fast tracks.
