Sasank Gopinathan, a product design graduate from Cochin, India, decided to revive third oldest car company with new luxury sedan. The super car T8 unveiled by him is worth looking for. Inspiration comes from the Czech automotive brand “TATRA”, which is quiet famous for its unique designs and exclusive technical solutions.
In TatraT8 Project, he incorporated V8 engine in the rear end. This is the most important and one of the unique traits of all the major cars of Tatra since 1940’s. Although mounting of V8 engine at the rear is a real difficult task. But Sasank worked on it and created a vent at the rear end of the car in such a manner that it is not obstructive to the rear passenger’s door.

What can one do when he has a huge garden, several Tatras like a T11 Normandie, T 57 Hadimirska, T 57b, T57a convertible, T 52 coupe, T 87 Diplomat and a T 603 in the garage, but still is missing something when he joins his wife for a drink on the terrace?

Famous Dutch architect, Gerrit Rietveld (Gerrit_Rietveld), inspired Dutch painter Araun Gordijn (araungordijn), known from his fascination for cars and petrol stations, to do a number of paintings with well- and lesser known designs of Gerrit Rietveld and classic cars.
Gerrit Rietveld (24 June 1888–25 June 1964) was a Dutch furniture designer and architect. One of the principal members of the Dutch artistic movement called De Stijl, Rietveld is famous for his Red and Blue Chair and for the Rietveld Schröder House, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Araun Gordijn is unmistakably a child of the fifties. The heart of Amsterdam. Before his door numerous cars were parked, among them impressive American models. Regularly his aunts and uncles visited from far-away America. They reported colourful accounts of the luxury and bustling activity that had still to enter the mainstream of Dutch life. Reluctantly television made its appearance and projected for the first time scenes to accompany all the fascinating stories.

The one year old French Tatra blog regrettably closes down due to too little support.
Its webmaster Yves Boireau explains:
Good night, blog TATRA in France closes its door at the end of 2010.
3038 hits since its inception December 6, 2009.
I thank the friends with whom I have corresponded over the world through this blog.
Thank you to everyone who trusted me, especially Tatraworld.
Jean Claude Lerat had warned me, but I thought … …….
TATRA, a beautiful story, and true car culture across many countries but not in France.
Too bad!
I continue my journey with my TATRA 603, another is being restored.
If you feel like it, you can always see me at Rambouillet, I organized some beautiful gatherings of cars, all TATRA there will always be well received.
Have a final look at: http://tatra.en-france.over-blog.com/ and enjoy.
