Remember Top Gear & Tatra?

In the early Nineties I appeared on a car show for Channel 4 calledDriven, which was produced by my friend Muriel Gray. This was a show that used a lot of the same tropes that Top Gear would later employ. Muriel knew that I had a great affection for Tatra cars which were made in Czechoslovakia. As a child visiting Prague with my communist parents we would be chauffeured around in fleets of futuristic-looking Tatra T603s, a vehicle that featured three headlights, space-age styling and a massive V8 engine in the rear. Now, in the Nineties, following the collapse of communism, a man was importing the last of the line, the Tatra 613, into Britain and I was to do a piece on him and the car.
