Jay Leno and a silver T77a. Updated

Did Jay Leno buy Canada’s John Long’s T77a?

Something on its history:

T77aJohynLongThe 1938 car was one of the last T77a’s manufactured. Sold in 1938, itis assumed that it was built in 1937. Its first owner was Hugo Lansky. After WW2 it ended up in the Soviet Union. In 2000 a Russian gentleman contacted a Tatra website with the message he had inherited an old Tatra from his late uncle, which he wanted to sell. The T77A was bought by a Canadian collector who took the car to Koprivnice, to RS restorations, where it was restored to a high standard.  The car got a replica body but the original body is still around and complete.

The T77awas presented at several shows, exhibitions and concours d’elegances and was present at this year’s Pebble Beach, where Jay Leno discussed it with the Canadian owner. Now Jay Leno has said that the car has come to his collection: http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/

Update by John Long:

Hi Kees

How are you?  Congratulation on the win at Het Loo, we are really getting good publicity for Ledwinka, Jaray and Tatra with our shows.  On the Jay Leno rumour, no I did not sell my T77a to Jay, it sit quietly in my garage after its big outing.  I took it on the Pebble Beach tour down Highway 101 along the California coast with Gary Cullen, Greg (my brother), my son Erik and a friend Allan Grant, it drove nicely.  Pebble Beach was lots of fun, almost too much with all the events and excitement.  Jay Leno stopped by (with camera crew) to do a item on the Tatra for his website and the Terminator (Governor Schwarzenegger) came by to talk and told us that there was a finned Tatra in his village when he was growing up.  A fun time was had by all.
